Mt. Lodestone is a 1462m high peak in the Arthur Range of the Kahurangi National Park.  It is accessed via a 6.7 km circuit track from the Flora Carpark, which sits at 930m.  The track is easiest to navigate clockwise from the Flora carpark down to Flora Hut and then up the ridge lines to the summit.  The climb up from Flora Hut and up the final ridge-line up the peak are reasonable steep.  Snow is often present during winter and spring.

Views from the peak are glorious and offer a 360 degree view over the Nelson and Tasman areas. Tasman Bay towards Nelson is viewed when looking east.  Mount Robert on the southern shores of Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson lakes National Park is easily visible along with the Mountains beyond when looking south.  The inner ranges of the Kahurangi National park are close up when looking south-west through to north-west.  Mt. Arthur is a close distance to the south-west.  Lake Sylvester is visible to the north-west and the Takaka valley is visible  North.

The panoramic view to the right is a gigapixel panorama shot from the top of the peak during September 2018.  The photos below are images taken during the 6.7 km hike.
