Scrubby Hut is located in the Hunter Valley, towards the Northern end of Hunter Valley Station, sitting beside the Hunter River. It is accessed via Hunter Valley Station’s farm track which runs along the North Western shore of Lake Hawea. Bookings for the hut are with Hunter Valley Station. I drove up the farm’s 4WD track in late March 2022 and spent several nights at the hut. The nights were clear, cold and dark, with no light pollution that far from civilisation. The Milky Way visibility was outstanding.
