Wharariki Beach is located on the top of the South Island’s West Coast, and has the Archway Islands just offshore from the beach.

It is a two hours drive from Nelson over the Takaka Hill and across Golden Bay.  A 15-20 minute walk is required across farmland and then down a track to the beach.  The West Coast of the South Island is renowned for stormy seas and at times this beach can be very wind swept.

Seal pups are present on the beach during parts of the year.

The track through the farm and down to the beach are shown in the 360-panoramas below.
